Welcome to Land Rover Parts Online USA

It was in 1987 when Land Rover first started to ship it's various SUV's to the U.S and for the first decade, sales of the vehicles were quite slow.  The first decade alone, sales only hit 100,000, which by many standards would be considered a failure.  The story doesn't end there though.  The company was convinced that their SUV's would eventually gain popularity and respect in the U.S marketplace, so they ventured on and the next 5 years proved to be more successful.  Now just over 20 years since the first Land Rover rolled onto U.S soil, over 500,000 units have been sold.  It's actually only in the past 3 years that sales have really started to boom, with 100,000 units being sold since mid 2006.  By vehicle sales standards in general, 500,000 units is still not very many, but the potential is certainly there.

The first vehicle to come to America was the Range Rover, Land Rover's upper end vehicle.  This was  a unique vehicle at the time that it hit the showrooms as the U.S market had not yet experienced a luxury SUV.  Right away the Range Rover was able to make a name for itself since it set the standard for other luxury SUV's to follow.  Still other manufacturers were hesitant to build luxury SUV's as no one really had any real data on whether they would be a profitable venture yet.

After the introduction of the Land Rover Range Rover in the U.S., other models followed and gained popularity.  The Discovery was the next model to be introduced in the United States in 1989 and it appealed to others that may not be looking for the more expensive Range Rover.  With better off-road capabilities, a lower price, yet with a degree of luxury, the Discovery did quite well and was received by the U.S market.

As other automobile companies were starting to build smaller SUV's, Land Rover introduced the Land Rover Freelander to the U.S. Market.  Although it sold adequately, it never did sell the numbers that the company had thought.  The reason could be that compared to it's Japanese competitors, it was priced higher.  What consumers would not see was that compared to these other models, it was priced higher but offered more luxury and very capable offroad features for such a small SUV.

Next to enter the market in the U.S was the second generation Discovery and then the third generation in 2005 which was named the LR3 in the U.S.  The LR3 was released the same year as a sportier version of the Range Rover, which quickly resonated with U.S. consumers.  Unfortunately sales of the Freelander could no longer be sustained in the U.S and the model was discontinued and a brand new model was introduced that included a new design, called the LR2.  The Land Rover LR2 is an attractive small SUV that entered showrooms in 2007 in the U.S and then added more features to their offering in 2008.

Overall Land Rover sales in the United States were slow for the first couple of decades, but even in the past 3 to 5 years, strides have been made and Land Rovers are now a respected brand in the United States. Known for the luxury and off-road ability, it's certain that these vehicles will have continued success in the U.S for many years.
